Rainy Season is Upon Us
If you live in Texas, you’d understand that our weather is always ever-changing. It never stays the same; one day it can be super hot, and then the next, super cold. As winter approaches, we are finally hitting the 60-70 range, which means it’s getting pretty chilly and rainy. Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for a rain jacket that will help repel water while ensuring that I stay nice and cozy. You can also use this as a mini guide to find gifts for a loved one, but I will be also be creating a more diverse list over in the lifestyle section soon. This is so exciting because if you know I value quality over quantity, it’s important to invest in high quality pieces but without breaking the bank.
In my current rotation my three favorite rain/winter jackets that iv’e had for year that I think would be such a great investment. These jackets will range from $69-$600.
These three are my current rotation of core jackets that I always choose, especially when it’s cold or rainy. I’m someone who tends to get cold often, and these jackets keep me so cozy.
This jacket is my holy grail of jackets. I've had it for about five years now, and it has been with me everywhere I go because of how compact and easy it is to take along. It's water-repellent, and though it seems thin, it keeps me very warm, oddly enough. It's like the saying goes: small but mighty. Additionally, it is filled with lightweight yet warm premium down with a fill power of 750+.
If you know Patagonia, you’d know that anyone who purchases their clothing can never go wrong with their products. They are sustainable, high quality, and built for life. This is what I love about the brand and its ethos. We have multiple jackets from them because of how durable they are and how warm they keep us. I think what helps is that their clothes are meant for adventuring and designed to keep you warm, which I love. I feel like this jacket strikes a good balance between affordability and luxury.
Last but not least, the most expensive one: Canada Goose is truly one of those brands that exist in the luxury market but are still accessible. Not only do their products look cute, but they are also super functional, depending on the item. We have this jacket, as well as one of their other puffers, which we also like to bring whenever we travel to New York in the winter because it protects us from the cold. This is definitely more of a splurge purchase, but it's worth it in my opinion.
